STECF EWG 13-06 notes that it has extensively addressed the ToR regarding the requested fishing effort regime evaluations in the 11. Eastern and Western Baltic, 12. the Kattegat, 13. the Skagerrak, North Sea, European waters in ICES Div.2 and the Eastern Channel, 14. to the West of Scotland, 15. Irish Sea, 16. Celtic Sea, 17. Atlantic waters off the Iberian Peninsula, 18. Western Channel, 19. Western Waters and Deep Sea 20. and the Bay of Biscay, i.e. updated estimates of trends in fishing effort, landings and discards by species, CPUE and LPUE by fisheries and species, and partial fishing mortalities for effort regulated and non-regulated fisheries by Member States. SGRN-08-02 was held on 30 June to 5 July 2008 in Ispra (Italy). The meeting focussed on the evaluation of 2007 national data collection programs undertaken under Commission Regulation (EC) no 1639/2001. The evaluation of the UK collection program was undertaken during the STECF November 2008 plenary meeting (Addendum to this report). STECF reviewed the report of the SGRN- 08-02 Working Group during its plenary meeting on 3-7 November 2008.

Review of Guidelines for the National Programs and Technical Reports under the Data Collection Framework. Report of the subgroup on research needs (SGECA/SGRN 09-03), 19-21 october 2009, Ispra ArchiMer

Articles 6(1) and 7(2) of Council Regulation (EC) No 199/2008 state that the evaluation ofboth NP proposals and TRs should be carried out by STECF. Therefore, the guidelines andtemplates should also facilitate SGRN’s evaluation of Member States’ compliance with theDCF. SGRN received a mandate to review these guidelines and templates in its July 2009meeting (SGRN-09-02), and proposed a new structure for both NP proposals and TRs, and atotally revised version of the Standard Tables. The RCMs subsequently provided an in-depthreview of the revised tables. The 2013 Annual Economic Report on the EU Fishing Fleet (STECF 13-15) ArchiMer
Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF).
The 2013 Annual Economic Report (AER) on the European Union (EU) fishing fleet provides a comprehensive overview of the latest information available on the structure and economic performance of EU Member States fishing fleets. The Results on the economic performance indicate that the EU fishing fleet was again in profitable in 2011, with 6% of income being retained as net profit. On the whole, the EU fleet showed improvements in most of the main economic performance indicators analysed when compared to 2010. Yet, in view of the uncertain economic climate and rising fuel prices, the economic performance of the EU fleet in the near future is unclear.
